For Such a Time as This

I just finished reading through the book of Esther, and what a powerful story it is. Esther was a young Jewish woman who, by God’s hand, became queen in Persia. When her people faced destruction, she risked everything to speak up—even though approaching the king could cost her life. Through her courage and obedience, God saved an entire nation.

One verse that always stands out is when Mordecai tells Esther:

“And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

Those words still echo today. How often do we find ourselves asking, “Why am I in this situation?” or “Why here, why now?” The truth is, God often places us right where we need to be, even when we can’t see the bigger picture.

Here’s something remarkable about the book of Esther: God’s name is never mentioned. Not once. And yet, His fingerprints are everywhere. From Esther becoming queen to the king’s sleepless night that led him to read about Mordecai’s good deed, every detail shows God at work behind the scenes.

Maybe you’re in a season right now that feels uncertain or heavy. Could it be that God has placed you exactly where you are—yes, even here—for a greater purpose? Romans 8:28 reminds us that, “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”

This week, when you’re tempted to wonder, “Why me?” try turning the question around:
👉 “Lord, how can You use me here?”

Like Esther, you may be right where you are for such a time as this.Prayer:
Lord, thank You for working in ways I can’t always see. Help me to trust Your plan and to be courageous, even when the future feels uncertain. Remind me that You have placed me here for a purpose, and that You are always at work for good. Amen.

How can I pray for you? Let me know in the comments.
